The graphics now are even better than they were last year.  Almost everything mentioned on the list has been augmented in some fashion.

The whole modding thing sounds so smart to me – and I agree that it is the best way to extend the life of a game.

It looks good…on paper. It is just too early in development to actually say everything they said will be there to the T as they said. A thing that really erks me is saying best this of all time. That is opinion not all time as none of us will be here for all of time. Highest to date or something along those lines. I really want to like this game but for me it just seems a little too ambitious. I know it is still in early development but sometime I feel like their time is squandered on things they should worry about in later development.

As appealing micro updates every week sound, large amounts of content every few months would still be better. It takes time to make content, good content that works, so you can understand why games take so long to release it. How much content could you possibly add within a week without many people working overtime, and how would that guarantee the quality of the content?

I dreamt of this game years before it ever came out I was 5 not sleeping at night imagining myself in a space ship with my fucking blanket over my head like a hoodie and oveer my legs like a cockpit XD fighting wars and shit and talking to people that where flying with me and now 13 years later its fucking announced WOW and Occulist support !!!!!!! They should use a small portion of that 50 $ million dollars to make a fucking spaceship controller  like the steering wheels for car games. This is not just gonna be awesome Im gonna fucking ruin my real life to play this XD

First off I don't really know much about the creator of Star Citizen or the game itself, but you saying "Make no mistake, I've read this guy's wikipedia page, so I know for a fact this game is in good hands." is kind of absurd. I suggest doing some more research first before making a claim like that. Takedown Red Sabre was made by the same guy as early Rainbow Six titles, and it was a total flop.

you should get some cash from RSI for really good advertising 🙂 So far i see only 2 problems with this great game: 1. PC to run it (my junk is happy to run space engineers) 2. TIME! dont get me wrong guys, but who the hell got time to enjoy game this wast… its like EVE allover again. Its kinda tuff choice enjoy your life or spend your life in virtual reality…

In order to not have load screens, this game actually has a couple tricks up its sleeves. First off, CryEngine doesn't render anything you don't see. This reduces the amount of strain on the GPU. Second, space itself isn't seamless in this game – you can't fly between systems without using your jump drive. What makes it seem seamless is the way the game's FTL system works. Since you have to navigate jump points yourself, the game can dump the previous map from the RAM and load the next one while you're flying.

how about a ship builder? they could make a player pay money to use in game resources to create ships….or how about PTM (Pay To mod) would sound cool. that's so the game could get money and support itself

After two years since this was posted.  Chris Roberts Star Citizen has passed the $72 million funding because of the faith of hard core PC gamers who really want to have a no compromise space game.  Endless expanding Perpetual Universe is proven in other recent space simulators like Elite Dangerous but with an emphisis on extreme photorealisim and fully fleshed out ships from the inside out.  The only sad part is that this game is so demanding with not a single compromise on performance demands that consoles like the PS4 or Xbox1 could never handle it.

I spent about $500 on this game and I'm bailing. Nothing so far but broken promises. The date that was listed on my original packages for COMPLETE delivery of the finished game and all the physical items was May 2014. It is now 10 months past that and it doesn't even have a full key bind system. I have been left-handed all my life and I'm not about to change now to play a game. I can't enjoy the alpha/beta access I paid for and the community is abusive. I got banned from the SC chat room after being insulted by someone for expressing my concerns.

The game is going to be the most Pay-2-Win game ever made. They even admitted that in the forums. When asked about levels in the game, they replied that there wouldn't really be levels and the way you'd determine progress was by the ships you owned. Since the ships are being sold for hundreds of dollars, this is Pay-2-Win.

"Are you horny for Star Citizen?"

My body is ready … 😀

And like a few others have said, would be a good idea to update this video, even if just with some annotations – $7 million, heh.  About to break $84 million, now.  Hard to believe it was only like $9 million when I backed it.  I remember watching the counter to see if we made the $11 million goal so CIG could buy the mo-cap equipment instead of renting it.

But even as it is … nicely done, especially for at the time you had posted it.  Was already scanning your channel for the Fallout videos, but now that I see you're a SC fan too … if I wasn't already going to subscribe, then that would have clinched it anyway.  Keep up the good work, bud.

Oh, and uh … my org (Brown Coats) takes a dim view on pirates and even in my hauler I pack a punch so better bring your "A" game and some friends, this mother trucker doesn't go down easy and he'll take at least a couple of 'rats with him.  😉

The cringe is so strong with this one…
It's not the histrionic pretentious douchery in his tone or anything, the worst part is that he actually thinks he is funny as well.

He was incredibly vague with some of the more significant bulletin points. Such as the one I considered most important to be elaborated upon, #8: Sandbox.
You basically told us that fly space is infinite. Well gee that's nice but has little to do with a sandbox element, and then told us we can find asteroids with a buttload of resources in them to put on the game market and sell the coordinates for.
… K so, I feel like you may be confusing economy simulator with sandbox. Sandbox games give players a massive amount of tools and features and inter-mingling game mechanic capabilities but does not tell the player what to do with them hence the player needing to figure out what to do on their own, and through their own creative aspirations in-game.

Boy this is really embarrassing, but given the guy seems to have a hint of dyspraxia given his speech impediment, I won't hold too much of it against him. He is clearly a nerd-gasming fanboy over a pc title he truly believes in, and that's fine and dandy, until he starts sugar-coating things, using stretch-logic via unconfirmed details, or just being incredibly vague yet still somehow incredibly excited over something he either knows little about, or doesn't care that there is little to know about it.

4.25 Million is over 200%…. LOl WTF we're at what, 90,000,000 now ?? what is that, 50,000% ?

Any publisher turning down Chris Roberts is plain ass stupid. This is why the publisher model is GARBAGE !

I remember people were skeptical on this project years ago. Look at Star Citizen today. It developed so much. For the backers, its an investment to support a company who dared to take community suggestions in developing the game.

Consoles have exclusives because of greedy companies simply refusing to publish them on other platforms in order to push their own product (so basically, they try to sabotage other platforms).
PC has exclusives because consoles are simply not able to handle them (simple truth about reality of things)!

Everywhere people tell me you can do what you want in StarCitizen, but can someone actually tell me what I can do?
Like Gather recources from Asteroids, process them, craft materials, trade goods, Steal stuff from other player, fight in team combat, create giant ships which are only buildable by a large group of people over a long time period? Using that mothership and its fighters to attack other groups of people with their own mothership and steal stuff/ships from them?
I loved Archeage and want a that game in space. How close can StarCitizen come to Archeage?

And BTW. I dont like the multiple server/own server stuff, I want ONE big world with as many player as possible in it. I hate it that you can go on trade runs in EliteDangerous in an offline world, becuase I want to steal from them, and I barely see any trader except NPCs
And I dont like the third person view either, it takes some of the greate feel you get when flying a ship, but it may give you an advantage in PvP. So its either realistic or good in PvP and I dont want to decide between theese two
