your kids safe online: Number one: Talk regularly start a discussion as soon as they have a device in their hands. Have an open ongoing conversation about what they’re doing online. Number two: Embrace technology! Let your kids teach you about the tech they’re using, empower them! Stay current, develop a list of trusted
websites on online safety. There’s a few at the end of this video. Number three: Discuss digital citizenship. Digital citizenship is how we live, what we do, who we interact with and how we portray ourselves online. Have your kids Google themselves, are they proud of the results? What could be improved? Number four: Talk about values and expectations. Translate values to appropriate behaviors on the Internet. How can you show respect to those you interact with online? Number five: Recognize good choices. Let your kids have more autonomy as they demonstrate good decision-making Number six: Ensure your kids are exposed to experiences that build their digital
