Armed Citizen Defeats Carjacking Attempt

Armed Citizen Defeats Carjacking Attempt

the bad guys always get to pick the time and place of the attack so you’ve got to be ready in the moment to defend yourself hi everyone this is John with today’s active self-protection lesson today’s lesson comes to us from Brazil and it shows an armed robbery that the armed robbers did not get over on teaches us the importance of being ready in the moment to defend ourselves against an attack about putting shots on target and about knowing when multiple threats are present how to deal with them in the correct order this gentleman here is just kind of you know taking care of his vehicle and I’ve sped it up just for the sake of time and you can see that he spent some significant time here and he’s just you know it fucked around in his garage or whatever you know is his carport see that first guy on a bike go by he’s gonna be important in just a minute we’re gonna speed it up again just a second secondly the guy in the purple shirt goes by now coming back here very quick we see our guy here has gotten into his car and why it’s this is significant because the first guy on the bike comes back and he’s got a gun in his hand and the other guy’s gonna come up with him so these guys are trolling looking for people to rob but what they do is they rob a guy who is armed and he comes out and he goes after that first guy who’s got a gun and he ends the threat against him do you want to go back and think about a couple of lessons out of this one you know number one you’re in a transitional space like your garage with the garage door open your carport whatever you gotta maintain awareness knowing what’s going on around you I think he did an excellent job here and I want to think about the ambush that he had to deal with this because you see this guy come up and and he provides very little notice I mean you know if you’re in your car you don’t have time at this point to go get something out of the glove box or god help you go get it out of the house it’s got to be on your person so make sure you keep your firearm on your person next as this one goes and they open the door think about the shot that he has to take to get to these guys here he’s got to be twisted all the way around if he was right-handed he’s over his left shoulder if he was left-handed like I am he would have to be bent all the way around to get a good shot at these guys and now they’re splitting up do you notice that the bad guys are gonna head in opposite directions so when it’s time for a follow-up you really got to think about where the threats are that you’re going to encounter now clearly the guy on the left is the threat that we know has a gun and so our good guy goes after the guy who has a gun it’s pretty wise but don’t forget the other threat as well because he may come at you from behind now chasing this guy down the street and firing at him while he’s fleeing I don’t know what he’s seeing in his sight picture so we’re not going to give him too hard a time about that but be careful shooting at a fleeing felon it can get you in trouble in a lot of places this guy though did a fantastic job of being ready in the moment of getting rid of the bad guys and covering his ass

Would you do a story on Philando Castile? The man with a CCW that was shot as he reached for his wallet the cop asked for? Seems relevant to this channel.

I didn't hear you touch on "not drawing on a drawn gun". Was this not a factor in this situation?

Sll of your vids from Brazil are police or military. Very rarely will a civilian be allowed to carry a firearm. That is why this gentleman is able to shoot at the fleeing suspect, there is very little repercussion for cops. If he had executed them on their knees ( it has happened before) the video would have conveniently disappeared.

Brazil is a "May Issue/Restricted " for concealed carry. Are the permits don't appear to be given out easily. Are these Brazil videos the rare examples of those who do get the licenses? Sad to think of the ones who don't and perhaps why the criminals show little fear at first.

It seems like in Brazil you have to be a police officer or a criminal to carry a gun while the rest of population plays the role of a sheep guarded by the Shepard to be protected from the big bad wolf. If I was born in Brazil I would have tried like hell to join the police force lol!

the surveillance was not a fixed camera as u can see it was held by a person this video was staged because the camera man didn't even freak out when a guy with a gun popped in

First of all: I learn awful lot from your videos, THANKS!

I do consistently disagree with you on a single hand shooting. Like in analysis of this video, you said you will have more trouble because you are left handed. This is why one has to train to shoot same effectively single handed from both support and weak sides. Car is one situation in which "lefty" better uses his right hand to shoot. Another will be shooting from behind the corner of the building using that building as a cover: whichever hand helps you to have least exposure, use that. Third, your strong hand is suddenly unavailable (injured, or being restrained…), you have to shoot with the hand that is available to you.
    Great videos, great training!

Brawlzil !!!! I think of someone pulls a gun on you to rob or harm you, you should be able to track them down and do the same to them. After all, youk N ow if they are doing it to you, they are going to do it to others. Stop the bad people, period.

So many videos from Brazil that involve criminals with guns, yeap the strong anti-gun policy for civilians is really working there. Those criminals are really obeying those tough laws.

Man im 18 years old. I live in Utah, which recently had a law passed allowing 18-21 year olds to acquire a concealed carriers permit. Im going to get mine, but ive been watching these videos like crazy and doing other things to make sure I have a calm thought process and as balanced mentality as I can get. Love these videos and what they teach.

any law saying you cant shoot a fleeing attacker should be gotten rid of, they have proven that they will attack people for no reason, for all you know they will come back and finish you

    bunch of bull shit

The only way to ensure they don't come back to attack you again is to drop'em right on the spot….not suggesting it's easy or even possible…just an argument for shooting while they are fleeing.

Ok so if people were allowed to own guns I bet most of these criminals would be either dead or too scared to car jack people.

Aggressors alway got the upper hand and going to be ready. it depends how skillful they are and how they use what skills they got. defenders are always lucky if the fend off the attack.
even the most powerful armies in the world get casualties from a bunch of attackers.

I appreciate the self defense tips. I feel like you should mention how dangerous it is from a legal standpoint to shoot at a person running away from the fight. I'm not 100% clear on self defense laws personally, but i feel like shooting in the back might be a cause for some major legal issue. Edit: Oh you definitely did mention it. Good job.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate feeling to have, but I sometimes wish there were no laws to discourage victims to continue firing on fleeing assailants. The idea is to "stop the threat". Now that I've fired on them and they're getting away, I'm thinking "they know where I live. They know what car I drive, will they retaliate? Our my neighbors safe? Basically, I would still consider somebody willing to do this a threat. I have to assume that if a person was to enter my home, for example, while I was there, and they're carrying a firearm or any other weapon, they have made a conscious decision to "deal with me" should we encounter each other. They have in a sense accepted what they're getting into, and what the consequences could be.That alone makes it extremely difficult for me to feel any sympathy when their plan goes south and they pay the price. I commend the restraint, training and judgment of those victims able to cease firing and remain cognizant of their actions during what must be EXTREMELY stressful, to say the least.

I wonder if any of the carjackers ever check their spiritual fitness before they head out ,since they don't know if they'll ever make it home after one of their crime sprees.

It seems the off-duty cop got into his vehicle on purpose and because of the 2 creeps.Β  It never ceases to amaze me how many carjackers open the car door, thereby opening up their chest as a nice wide target and being less responsive with the gun in their free hand since it's focus is tertiary toΒ their left hand opening the door and then trying to look inside the vehicle and praying (some tactic!) that the person is simply giving up. I've just started watching a few of these…very nice videos guys.

I would have been completely helpless if someone came up to me like that, especially if I was still fully dressed in my work is higher. One assailant is is bad enough but two? I'm afraid the best I'd be able to do in that situation is immediately put my hands up and surrender to them. I would probably most likely end up helping them lift all my valuables to the back of the truck.. then provide them with materials to tie and gag me with before taking off and both of my vehicles all I struggle helplessly and another room.
