My name is Anya Hewitt and I am a final year
student studying Civil Engineering at Kingston University. I chose to study at Kingston University
because of the friendly lecturers, the specialist facilities and the great location being so
close to central London. My name is Keivan Rezaei-Baloochi, currently
I am studying a master course in structural design and construction management with sustainability.
I have chosen Kingston University because of great feedback I have received from other
international students. One of them was my brother, who also studied another master course
at Kingston University. I have really enjoyed the lab sessions during
the course and the wide range of modules such as structures and hydraulics. This has enabled
me to develop the skills and the knowledge for a successful career in civil engineering.
The facilities here at Kingston are great. Theres a good variety of equipment that we
learn to use during the course. I believe that the course will help me in
terms of increasing my employability skills and expanding my qualifications. The practical aspects of the course have been
one of my favourite parts, I particularly enjoy the variation and the lecturers are
really good at making the lab sessions engaging and interesting. My advice to students looking at Kingston
University is to work hard, utilise all the facilities, get involved with a society and
most importantly, have fun! This course work will help me understand what
are the challenges I might face in the future workplace. My advice for a student thinking
of coming to Kingston University is to study hard, use all of the facilities and get the
experience and the skills they need for a future in civil engineering.
