    Nice to see constructive criticism, Star Citizen attracts so many extremes when it comes to look at the project management. Just glad I expected it to be a long term project when I backed. Just wish they would be a little more open with the PTU dates, hearing "soon" and "right around the corner" for a week or two every patch really puts you off wanting to play (least for me).

    There is always to think twice. They are developing Stanton for us in the PU at the same time they develope Orion System for SQ42 with aliens and stuff. When SQ42 release date come live they will be allowed to jump aliens into pu, insert orion also, an entire star system.

    I can think of a fix for the player level issue. If the lower ranked ships+players have a longer range scan, they will get early warnings about potential threats. Vice versa, the higher you get "ranked", the shorter your range….even risk? Just an idea….🤔

    @BoredGamer I think the main thing they need is for SQ42 to be good and thus bring in more people BUT, in order to keep them, they also need more than one system in the PTU to KEEP people interested 🙂

    I think they earn enough millions per month to pay the salaries which is the important part, and as some months a year they earn much more they have margin to play with numbers and other types of expenses. Besides, the company was supposedly worth more than 500M like a year or two ago, so they have further margin, selling % of the company, to get extra funds if needed.

    I for one like the model they use in funding the game. Ofc it's annoying that they are so many years extra in development but things happen and in the end it is better that they are are not working with cryboys anymore

    There just selling money right now, flat out money….doesn't get more p2w then that.
    Its capped at 30,000k a day but add it up
    2 years from now you can have 21,000,000 credits in your account before its even out.

    Bla bla bla… its not my place to defend SC. This exactly what you are doing.

    Forbes published recently that CR is left with only $14M in CIG accounts, that him and Sandi purchased $4.2M property cause he wanted to experience living near the ocean, that people who left development are saying it is complete mayhem, out of 100 systems promised 7 y ago there is none, that in comparioson GTA V was done in 5 y and less development budget (apparently Sandi is spending money on marketing and thats how they make the living), and that Sandi is nuts and violent. Roberts himself was attacked on few occasions.

    What are you people always talking about changing engine? They never changed the engine. Lumberyard had the same base, i believe it was Cryengine 3.5.x as Star Citizen was running at that time. What they did was going from 32 bit to 64 bit for the higher precision with memory allocation in a game of that scale.

    I guess that a useful comparison point for the expensive ship pledge packages and the morality of that is … compare it to gambling. Lots of people think it's fine to go to Vegas and blow $1000 for a fun weekend, and if someone blew $27,000 I would hope they had the money and weren't addicted to gambling. By comparison pledging $27K for Star Citizen seems pretty tame and safe. It's probably not feeding an addiction, and you have to assume that the people who are pledging that kind of money are stacked anyway.

    I'm not a fan of LTI or purchases that give you an edge over others but, should it be needed for the survival of the game then we must have the correct balance of pay 2 win vs play 2 win. Extra in-game requirements must be met for players to be able to have that edge instead of solely just paying for it with real money.

    I gave up on this game a few years ago now. Surprised it hasn't been canceled yet. It's biggest problem is the P2W platform. And it will fail unfortunately.

    "the game needs to be balanced". How can you be balanced with a variety of different ships? An Archimedes should not be able to go up against a Javelin. That's the whole point of this game. To have a variety. A javelin will suffer against a fleet of smaller crafts coordinated against it. Etc.

    If they try to make a small ship be able to go up against bigger ships that cost more money to buy and operate, what's the point of getting the bigger ship? There isn't "balance" in real life, there shouldn't be in a game like this.

    They completely lost me when i realized you need to create a forum-type account on the RSI website JUST TO SEE basic info about the game. Also the way they push the entry paid pack is kind of agressive tbh. Imo: STOP ADDING FEATURES, GET YOUR BASIC ANIMATIONS AND MECHANICS TOGETHER, TRY TO GET TO THE BETA STATE BEFORE EVERYONE STOPS GIVING A SHIT ABOUT THE PROJECT AND BUILD UP FROM THERE

    The moment CIG adds full persistence and a wealth of satisfying, balanced, reasonably deep gameplay loops / missions (along with at least a small fraction of the 100 promised star systems), I'll gladly throw my money into Star Citizen – even if it's still in a bug-ridden alpha state that reeks of pay-to-win in PvP settings. Until then, I'll remain skeptical that this game will ever approach CR's vision, even if it's inevitable that some form of a game is eventually going to be released. I appreciate the ambitious scope of this project and I understand that CIG essentially had to start from scratch as a company, but the overall attitude toward the game is becoming more and more pessimistic and cynical as time goes on.

    Completely disappointed with the state of the game i see no end in sight and the fidelity they promised and sold on for years will be sub standard when this game finally comes out. i own a banu merchantman and from what i can see its gonna be years before i see this ship and if thats the case the universe is still probably 2-5 years out because they add alot of shit that while cool does not need at the beginning.

    The main problem I'm having with SC at the moment is the fact that other players and NPC's are completely headless?? I've tried deleting my user folder and also reinstalling the game completely with no luck. Anybody else getting this problem? Also does anybody know of a fix? I've been having this problem for the past few months now :'(

    If this was a normal game development method you wouldnt even know about any issues that occurred. It would just be announced 9 months before release date and that would be it. People cant seem to wrap their head around that.

    Lol I personally feel the pay to win element got out of hand a long long time ago.CIG seem to want to sell you every game asset they can get away with. Some orgs already from day 1 will have outrageous advantages in comparison to an org that starts out fresh, puts me right off the game now

    It does worry me a little how prevalent players spending massive amounts of money on ships is tbh. But as long as everything on the store can eventually be earned in-game and AI packages can support solo players in the place of multi-crew, I suppose it can be justified as a desire to support the development

    I wonder if SQ42 will have any transferable to the PU. I remember hearing talk about it back in 2015 but I haven't heard anything in the last few years.

    "disadvantage in 1v1 but that might not be a fair comparison, you can join organisation to borrow a ship". That is the dumbes argument i had ever heard. Yeah in real life, when you are harrased by mafia you can join other mafia as well and get weapon from them. That is not fair, this is a situation where you are pushed to do something against your will to survive.

    Good video BG, I also think they need some long term dates, the protestant universe needs a plan and date set to have the PU in Beta and then finished, without a plan the game is subjected to drifting on for way too long.

    Additionally I have to say I believe the PU should require no more money input to be finished, I am not saying don't buy anything else but they should have more then enough money to finish the game already.
