Digital Citizenship in Action | ISTE U Course Trailer

To me, digital citizenship means being a member
of the active community online, and being aware of digital issues and digital trends,
and actively participating in the discussion about what’s morally wrong and right online. It’s important that educators ensure that
students have opportunities to practice cultivating all kinds of relationships,
including those with other digital citizens. In this ISTE U course, educators will explore
the historical context and present state of digital citizenship education through the
lenses of legal obligation, learning standards, traditional frameworks of citizenship education
and research on youth and technology. Prepare to teach digital citizenship lessons
and learn how to integrate these topics into various content areas. Digital citizenship education is more than
a list of rules to follow–it’s empowering students with the skills and knowledge to
navigate and contribute to digital global communities.
