Okay, this is another reason why I do not like to watch programs will they allow these women to be emotionally involved and extremely technical scientific and business subject for which they know nothing about!. You think that energy bill of $1,000 is a small thing in Texas!!. Who has that kind of money to pay every month for an energy bill now of course this particular woman is Young, has no children, and makes a six-figure salary so her biggest complaints is her clothing her makeup and what trip she's going to take with her female friends she can maybe get away with it what about us ordinary average people who aren't on television!.

150ppm CO2 — minimum level necessary for plant growth
400 ppm CO2 — approx current atmospheric concentration
1200 ppm CO2 — optimum concentration for plant growth
6000 ppm CO2 — level at which humans begin to suffer CO2 posioning

for some reason I cant seem to get myself hysterical over current atmospheric concentrations!!!

The problem is the fact that there are no economies of scale like fossil fuel has. You need a complete overhaul of all the infrastructures that are built for fossil fuels.

They have to be idiots and also I don't agree with climate change. Because the earth does what it wants to do. If they really did spend 93 trillion on this failed plan now we might go for a second recession in this year or the recession risk increases. But it was only 7 billion of waste and only in Georgetown so they better not do it to all the cities

It's so expensive, they cry! Well, that's not even considering the ENTIRETY of the system they're trying to implement. All of the estimates are omitting the base costs of this kind of conversion and even without those costs, it is ridiculous. EVALUATE THE WHOLE SYSTEM! Not just the end project. Start with the VERY beginning from when the pen was first put to paper, and all the way to 20 years after full successful implementation.

That's how you get the TRUE costs.

Why isn’t anyone implementing the Rodin coil? Completely endless clean energy. Like… seriously. I have coils all over my house running on square batteries. Soon I’ll have the hook up to a solar panel that recharges those batteries. 🤷🏽‍♂️ if I can do it… seriously… I’m nothing special! Nothing! We can all do it INDIVIDUALLY until power companies catch on.

It is stupid to think we can't invest in wind, solar and geothermal; returns from a renewable product will bring prices DOWN, overtime. I think private market entrepreneurs will invest only after the foundation of that industry is thoroughly developed by (un)paid college kids and public money. So private companies will rather profit on their current nvestments in natural fuel BEFORE it becomes unprofitable, and while it is still booming as a commoditized industry.

Wind, solar and geothermal (or biomass, waste or whatever) are the future. Private companies know this, but can't afford to lose money now because they won't have the funds to fight for ownership when government tries to own their resources later.

Government and private enterprise are playing chicken, with humanity in the passenger seats. Small subsidies to 'go renewable' SOMEDAY, weighed against many easy tax cuts, is a fine first step. One significant and balanced deal, that all sides believe in, is a great goal.

Did she say electric bills went up by $1000? How the hell are people supposed to pay bills like that. Are they shutting off elderly and low income peoples power if they can't pay $1000 a month electric bills? Minimum wage 40 hours a week for a month is $1176 before taxes ! How do they expect people to live?

The only way any form of 'green new deal' would have any chance of working is for the price tag to come down.. it is a simple matter of economics. A family living paycheck to paycheck will be devastated by a 2x or 3x increase in energy costs. Technology MUST advance forward to the point that it is as cheap to produce energy via green methods as it is to not do so.. and only then will it be widely accepted. I could be wrong in this.. it may not need to be quite as cheap.. a small increase like 5 or 10% might be acceptable to most.. but 2x or 3x or more is way too much for people to stomach unless they are in a financial position that such an increase is nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

Bottom line is that if you want everything to go green then you must find a way to do it cheaper. It is really that simple.

Whatever this experiment consisted of I doubt it addresses the energy needed to run factories and farms, as well as delivery of goods. The poor won't be able to afford electricity and will need subsidies to survive.

In rural Iowa wind turbines are going up everywhere being subsidized by taxpayer money. The great thing about them is that they make electricity cost about 30-50% more too! My families electric bill went from $240 to a little over $400. What a great system! Lets give tax money to energy companies just so they can charge you more. I love the USSA!

They are desperate to get this junk in place before the dam of truth exposes man made climate change for the fraud it is. Man contributes 1 to 3 percent of all CO2 emissions. With no real way to measure Earth's total CO2 out put 3 percent couldn't be used as a margin of error.

Can we just get new plumbing for the outdated plumbing in America, so our children and families can drink American water, and we can get rid of 1/2 the bottled water in America, then we can move on from there. Safe drinking water first, then clean up our oceans.

Think of a US Navy Trident or Attack nuclear Sub. Thay are in the harshest environment no sunlight and the only only reason thay come back to dock is the people on board them run out of food. Allso the US Navy has a very good safety record that started in the 1930s

I'm still concerned how America will operate under the rules and mandates of the green new deal if it ever gets passed. The plan under the deal is to greatly increase the cost of fossil fuel for everything over the course of 12 years. The purpose is to force people to stop using it. If people can't afford it, they stop using it. Democrats know this. The domino effect will be skyrocketing taxes and the cost of living will soar. Then when fossil fuel is not longer allowed to be used that means infrastructure projects will be impossible to construct. The many hardships that will be created is huge.

Cloudy days and gentle breezes don't contribute to large amounts of energy. Sustainable and clean is the ultimate goal. Solar and wind are clean, mostly, but not fully sustainable.

"look at the time horizon in a bit of a different way" sums it up perfectly. When the technology improves the market will change. It just a matter of time until this happens and not trying to jump the gun and force people to pay for environmentalists green dreams because they can't wait for the tech to get where it needs to be. He mentioned Germany, imagine you electric bill not doubling but multiplied by 8x and think what that would do to your lifestyle right now, and you can forget about electric cars all together with that too.

This is why a sacrificial state like California is needed. It is big enough and rich enough to be its own country and they can implement all these lofty goals there – and pay for them there – and see how that turns out. If they do everything the green new deal says and do the things that will need to be done to pay for it including taxing everyone 70% and taxing their cash cow corporations to the hill, borrowing only a few trillion dollars – and paying the interest on that; if they do all this and they are right as they say the results will speak for themselves. As far as I have seen so far, they cannot even connect 2 major cities with a single electric rail. The results so far have been quite underwhelming.
