at the end of the day the booth churches have the same foundation. LDS and FLDS are both based on white supremacy and man leading. I'm glad I escaped both ngl. I dont understand when she said that LDS is based on positivity and good vibes lmao where??? you are prohibited to do a lot of things. what's wrong w coffee? what's wrong w having a beer every once in a while??? it's still brainwashing but low key

This is true, brainwashing religion from a young age. Let people grow up and choose for themselves, see the real world.

I think it’s really important you emphasized that they were generally really good people led astray. That’s wonderful that you don’t feel the hate towards them all that you love them and just recognize their current situation.

27:30: Love and accept everyone – even homosexuals. The facts that this is preceived as an achievement suggests that the LDS church has a way to go with regard to love and tolerance.

I appreciate the honest and thoughtful video. I think you found a home in the LDS church because you fit into a mold of the acceptable member. But what happens to people who don't fit that mold? In my experience, they either spend a lifetime trying to change or they leave the church and are seperated from family and community.

I just can’t imagine seeing firsthand how religion is primarily used to control people and then continuing to practice a similar religion like if that were me I would not want to be around anything religious ever again. Cognitive dissonance I guess.

There is a very large polygamist group in my area! They practice AUB, and being LDS I was always very curious of them. They truly are the best people and slowly but surely they are making their way down to the lds church in our area!

The verse that’s stumped every LDS person I’ve met to this day is Matthew 7:15 in the Bible when we are warned to beware of false prophets. How do you justify the LDS prophets with this knowledge?

I don’t mean offense, but I don’t see how you could stand by the “real LDS church” having dealt with the FLDS. I consider Joseph Smith just as false of a prophet as the more recent ones. As time goes on, things become easier to accept as we’re removed. I think those that were initially brainwashed by Smith just didn’t have the same modern influence to recognize that it was fake truth.

so if warren jeffs was a false prophet then what proves that any other prophet is true? isn't a prophet just someone that god talks to? god talks to you, no? are you a prophet? i do think that y'all are good-hearted people, but the lds church is wrong, period. the "history" is all total bullshit.

What importance do you place on the founder of your religion, Joseph Smith? And since your religion is fairly young, does that mean everyone who lived before the founding of Mormonism is lost?

The women of the FLDS, from what I have read, are extremely undervalued. I have heard a lot of positive stories of women leaving the FLDS, the Order, the Kingston Clan, and others. They are so brave, and yes, they are kind people. If you haven’t read Rachel Jeffs’ book, I recommend it. She really gives a personal and intimate look of how it felt to grow up FLDS.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the Mormon Church, right? The Mormon Church is not a Christian church because Mormons do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ. You were in a cult and I'm glad you escaped. But, I'm sorry to break it to you, anyone who knows what your church is, also considers the organisation you are now in, is also a cult. The organisers put ''Jesus Christ'' in their title to fool people.

My hope is that your kids get a choice in what they want to believe and not be brainwashed by parents of their decisions. Kids should have a right to make their own choice in their spiritual beliefs and not to be made to feel guilty, or fearful, that they don't believe as mom and dad do.

Thank you for sharing your story April. I know a lot of people are focusing on the negative and that's not fair to you. It takes a brave person to share their personal story so openly to the world. Some people are obviously ungrateful and dont understand what it takes to do what you've done. Thank you. Truly. You've opened my eyes and perspective to polyamory.

Do you know there is shunning and disowning in the Latter day saint church today? I believe the church talks terribly about those who leave calling them apostates, fallen, lost, confused, followers of Satan, or that they have desires to sin. That's not true I stand with many who have left the church h and have found a true Christ Like Love that I never found in the church.

I am kinda sad that after seeing the lies of the FLDS you became a Mormon. The FLDS was rooted in Mormonism. Joseph Smith believed in polygamy. The Mormon church believes that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I hope one day you see and discern the errors of the Mormon church. I really like hearing your story. Blessings.

i understand why people are confused why she converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A church that has the same foundation of the FLDS church. But just because someone starts their own church because the old one doesn’t support what isn’t right, and that person wants to continue doing that wrong thing. That doesn’t mean the leaders have the same intentions or two churches have the same teachings. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because it uses both the bible and book of mormon, because of its teachings, the way it gives me comfort, and they way it’s completely centered on Christ. I respect everyone’s beliefs❤️ I just that it would be cool to share mine. Have an awesome day

My grandmother grew up in a Baptist cult that was located in Arkansas. I’ve asked my mom about that cult sometimes (who did not grow up in the cult), and she said that her and her sisters lived in shacks, had nothing, and were brainwashed to no end. It honestly led her up to having some PTSD and she never stepped in a church again, and I honestly can’t blame her for that.
