Just wanted to add the Penal Code For California ^_^
    837. A private person may arrest another:

    1. For a public offense committed or attempted in his presence.

    2. When the person arrested has committed a felony, although not
    in his presence.

    3. When a felony has been in fact committed, and he has reasonable
cause for believing the person arrested to have committed it.

"And YOU! With your egg…! And your tree…! And your nest! I'm making…a sour citizens…ARREST!"

Unless you're an incredibly awesome person, you'll think I'm a lunatic… "Okay, call me a lunatic! I've found magic, but they won't see it!"

So, you watch the cop arrest them beat them with a night stick? The cop is the one that should be arrested for police brutality.

This video is unimaginably idiotic. This "we shouldn't do anything, let the government handle it" attitude has become so prevalent in England that people will literally stand around and watch someone rob their OWN house, while they wait for the police to arrive. People need to take some civic responsibility and clean up their own streets. Don't let crime happen around you. Stop waiting for a feckless bureaucracy to do it for you.

okay so if someone is getting attacked and or threatened by a weapon such as a gun i am supposed to tell the person "im not a police officer" and tell them to stop what they are doing and just stand there? i dont think so i would knock that persons ass out

Here's a tip for OWS protesters.

It is a felony for officers to hide or even refuse to show a badge. If they don't have a badge, you can arrest them (citizen's arrest) for posing as an officer. It happens often here in California. Remember, undercover cops are required to wear the badge on their outter garment, even while wearing normal clothing. (Kinda defeats the purpose of being undercover, but the law is the law)

@DaveWreckingCrew the cops, paramedicas, and fire department have the right away to run red lights. All they have to do is slow down, make shure no cars are coming, and then just speed through.

Such a motivating video! Now I really want to go out and protect my neighborhood, but not if they resist and def not if they run, and there's no way I would think about restraining someone dangerous. But if they stand still while I scold them and watch me call the police and then wait for them to get there… they shall taste my wrath

The law does not typically apply to them. They can try to throw it at eachother, but us, we can't really do anything to them. Police is legalize armed bullying. People should really stop feeding into such a thing.

you can't… by law officers are protected from citizens arrests… however, you can take note of their badge number and report them to the police department… from there they may be demoted or fired from their position

load of crap.  Reasonable force? 540 people have been murdered by police with tazer guns. unarmed handicapped people in wheelchairs and people lying on the ground have also been killed by police with guns. A police officer is simply a social worker with a gun but they have been abusing their authority without any consequences.

At this point I dont want the cops making any of my arrests. Calling the cops to your location is like calling an airstrike on your own position. They dont care about you or the criminal. you are all the same to them.

I have no faith in the police and the justice system. it is all corrupt. And I dont need them and want to do my arresting myself.

you all act this out like its some silly game or a project for your class. I would have appreciated a more serious and (you are not such a little peasant idiot that needs someone else to do the adult work) kind of instructional video.

@crispers702 "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing." I'm disappointed to see you're the man that would lay down while another is in need of help. I sincerely hope that should you need help, the people nearby able to provide it, are not as flippant with the duty to their fellow man as you. And by the way, most places have a Good Samaritan Law that leaves you open to lawsuit and criminal negligence charges should you NOT provide aid in such situations, especially those where someone needs medical attention. SO good luck with your cowardice. I hope it gets you everything you deserve.

Now, if only they would restrict the actual police on what THEY can get away with while making an arrest, or even just while detaining someone. the crap going on these days just ain't right in a "free country".

If you choose to pursuit someone and that someone happens to get hit by a car, you can be charged with attempted murder? First of all, if that person committed a crime, that person should be charged for their crime. So in order to stop that person, that should be something to be recognized. Second, by the time someone witnessed a crime and decides to call the police, it's most likely to be too late (almost 90% of the time it is). And third, if anything, if that person chooses to run and happens to get hit by a car, that's their fault. They alone should suffer the consequences of their act of choosing to flee, let alone getting hit by a car.

Police don't follow their own laws also you can't follow the same laws as a police officer because many of the laws pertaining to please give them special permission. all the police officer has to say to excuse themselves is that you're being disorderly or suspicious and then they're excused of anything they do however you can't do the same.
