Hi I’m Nick, and today I’m going to show how to set up the Magicard Rio Pro plastic card printer. First up, we’re going to have a look at what’s inside the box. In here you should have; the printer itself. A power supply and USB cable. Input and output hoppers. And a driver installation disk. And of course to set up the printer, we’re going to need to use a ribbon and some cards. So in this instance, we’re going to use the MA300YMCKO ribbon and some plain white, Dyestar PVC cards Before we start, we need to open the lid of the Rio Pro. Remove the protective cardboard. And also, remove the sticky label from the blue cleaning roller. Now that we’ve prepared the printer we just need to install the MA300YMCKO ribbon. Helpfully, the Rio Pro is colour coded, so that you can match up the spools of the ribbon with the area it is meant to go in. So, the blue spool, goes in the blue section there. And the white spool, sits in there. Now, we’re going to fit the input hopper. This is the correct way to put it. If you’re using a chip, HoloPatch, or magnetic strip card, there’s a diagram on the top of the hopper to show you which way up the cards go in. Today we’re using plain white PVC cards so it doesn’t matter which way round they are. In like that. And fits like so. And now let’s put the output hopper into the front. And now, we just need to, connect the power supply and plug like so. With this done, we just need to plug in the Rio Pro. And initialise. When it’s finished booting, you’re ready to install the driver. Once your driver is loaded, Magicard flash screen will appear. Continue, by clicking “install software” then “install driver”. You will now get a choice of connection methods. We’re going to use USB. But if you’re going to use Ethernet please see the additional Ethernet installation documentation on the driver CD. Or as official UK distributors of Magicard products our in-house experts work closely with Magicard technical team, so we can help you with this. Continue, by pressing “next”. Press “next” to continue with the installation. We’re now going to connect the USB cable. Before we do this, we have to remove the security sticker. Once the updater has completed the installation the driver should have also finished it’s cycle and you’ll be notified of both of these. You can now register your printer, or exit the completed installation. And now, you’re ready to print. Thank you for watching.
