    I believe it that only 55% of eligible voters voted in 2000. We live here in America where we get to vote and no one cares. VOTE EVERYONE!!

    The only reason the liberals are trying to get people to vote, is so that the ignorant black ppl will vote for obama.

    @Miike92 I live in California, and I have my voting ballot mailed to my home address. I registered to vote via mail also. Legalizing marijuana is also on the voters ballot this year, that allows the taxation of the commercial production, distribution, and sale of the marijuana. It was put on the ballot as an initiative ;]

    @pestcontrol3 Just think, a Democrat could have been elected as president in 2008 and we could have lost

    * Two wars
    * Guantanamo
    * Warrantless wiretapping
    * Bailouts
    * The Patriot Act

    Oh wait, we did get a Democrat, and nothing changes.

    It's almost like the supposed left/right paradigm is just to get people to fight over useless bullshit like gay marriage and flag burning, and nothing pay attention to issues like the SOLVENCY OF THE NATION or WARS.

    People that don't vote should not complain about whomever gets elected. Take interest in educating yourself on each candidate and VOTE for the candidate you believe is best.

    You should vote because it lets you have your say in issues that will effect you in some way or another.

    Part of the reason is that registered voters have additional responsibilities that Americans can opt out of. Voting should not depend on this but it does. When you register to vote you also become eligible for jury duty.

    Indeed . in some countries in Latin America people don't register to vote, they just go and vote. the only information they ask is where they have to vote since they normally vote closes to the place where they live. that make sense..!!

    I am a citizen and it took me 1 minute to fill out a registration form and now i'm going to vote. I don't see what the issue is. you aren't applying for the right. We have the right to have arms in this country… but we have about a mile of paperwork to do so. we can assemble freely…(with proper permitting forms). registering is easy, free, and available everywhere. You think the lazy people who don't vote will suddenly vote because they don't have to fill out a 1 page form?

    It was Nov. 4 but that was for the last presidential debate. This year (2012) we have to vote on Nov. 6. It varies every time.

    1st of all America is not a democracy, it's a republic.

    OK, I'm voting for Trump, but the process it takes to vote just discourages me.
    I'll wait 4 years.

    Is it just me or does the united states voting procedure seem overly complicated just like their pretended system to animate democracy?

    I remember coming here and saying something about taking a dump in the voting booth. Then this guy named Savage or something came over and gave me a comeback so ingenious and hurtful that I had to be warded off to an asylum for a whole damn month. That guy still gives me nightmares and I'm paranoid that he's still hunting me down to this day, but for VERY good reason. I sure am slow.
