John Mack, Baltimore Resident, Architect, Member of the MTA Citizens Advisory Committee

– My name is John Mack. I am a member of the Citizens
Advisory Committee for the MTA I became a member of the committee due to my 40 years of living
in the city of Baltimore and professionally in the last 20 years, participating in a number of different transit-related projects,
as I am an architect within the city of Baltimore. The impact CAC provides
a platform or voice directly to the transit administration for how transit works and operates in the city of Balitmore at
all the neighborhood levels. I think it provides that
voice, that platform, that ties the administration
to the community that it serves The changes that I see currently underway is a very ambitious plan
to reroute and re-plan the bus system within Baltimore
city and surrounding areas to make it more efficient,
interconnected to job markets, new growth areas, and
providing what is hoped to be a very strong access point for all the citizens around here who are from east, west, north, and south. My favorite mode of transit? I do, I am an avid light-railer,
and Amtrak, and Marc. So I guess I’m a heavy
rail to a light rail guy. I love Baltimore, that’s
what this is about.
