– Were dispatched
to an accident. The reporting party saw
a truck hit a brick wall. There was a baby in
the back of a vehicle. So we’re concerned
for the kid’s welfare. And then the reporting
party added that the vehicle took off and continue driving. So we’re going to go see if
we can identify that vehicle. Stand by. I have about five males
running from the area of Comstock and Zinnia I
don’t know if it’s related. – 14, let’s affirm, the
[inaudible] now states a male is running with a
baby in his hand, westbound through the desert. – Copy. I might have IDed him. I believe he’s gray over black. – 10-7, I’ll be on, I think it’s
Zinnia Street, pulled up from the [inaudible] at 1230 Zinnia. – Give it to me– 1-2-3-0? – Affirm. He’s fighting. – Copy. – Stop. What are you doing? – What do you think
[bleep] doing? – What?
– [inaudible] – I thought it was [inaudible]. – He just T-boned somebody.
– Stop. Stop.
Get up. – Here, watch out.
– [bleep] – He’s all your guys. – Get him on the ground. – Stop fighting. – Get him on the ground. – [bleep] Let go of me, man. – He just hit somebody
on [inaudible].. – Stop.
Stop resisting. Get your hand up. [beep] – South 14, send us another– fight. Here, I got my cuff. [police radio chatter] – What are you doing, dude? – Stop resisting! – What are you doing? – [police radio chatter] – OK, let go of him. [inaudible] – Just let– – What are you doing, dude? – Sam 7, please report. – Sam 7. – We have the male
in question detained. Two medical units. We also have blood
on the infant. – What are you doing? – Are you drunk or high or what? – Yeah. – Why are you driving
like this, dude? Where’s the gun? – It’s right down over there. – It’s a gun. – What are you doing, dude? – I just finally got– I don’t know, sir. – You finally what?
Look at me. Let me see your eyes. [police radio chatter] Why are you doing this? [police radio chatter]
– I don’t know. [bleep] I was
probably just scared. [police radio chatter] – You caused a traffic
accident back there at Calvada and Dandelion. – OK. – Did you know that?
– Yes. No, sir. Actually, I didn’t
know I did that. What else did I do? – You hit a brick wall
at Calvada and Dandelion. The truck pulling the white
trailer hit a brick wall. – OK. – And it was unknown
injury, but he said he saw an infant in the car. And then the truck took off. – OK. – It left in front of JG
Johnson Elementary going the wrong direction
down Jackrabbit into oncoming traffic
and then south on Mt. Charleston into oncoming
traffic and then eventually up
Comstock and Upland, all into oncoming traffic. They said that it had
blown both the front tires and was driving on the rims. And by then there was three or
four citizens now following it. So he pulled the gun on you?
– On us. We were following
right behind him. – Yeah.
– And he pulled out this way. [inaudible] – So he stopped here,
and you stopped here? – No, he had his baby. – He had the baby
in his right hand. – Oh yeah. – Baby in right hand,
gun in the other? – Yeah.
He pulled out here. And he went over to the tailgate
here and started walking away like he was just going to walk. – So the child has
several lacerations. And it looks like
it’s from glass. I just took pictures
that the car seat is loaded with glass from
the windshield or side window. – OK. – So that’s what that is. That’s all really
small lacerations. – Let me go grab my phone. I’ll grab some. – Yeah, exactly,
before we leave. – The most important priority
for us right now is this child. So we’re going to get
everybody taken care of and then worry about
his charges, so. – He’s going to be under
arrest for at least the weapons charge and the
child endangerment and the hit and run. I’ve got Fernandez trying to
track down the infant’s mom– to see what’s going
on with infant’s mom. Other than that, DCFS
is going to come, and the infant’s going to get
treated for the lacerations. That was crazy. That was like– that was unreal.
