I’ve been thinking about buying a cargo
ship is the freelancer max a good buy how does it compare to other cargo ships welcome to another installment of a star
citizen ship buyer’s guide what’s up citizens this is subliminal
here again and today we’ll be discussing the features functions and benefits of
the misc freelancer max with a comparison on how those features rank
amongst competing ships so you can make an informed buying decision let me know
what ship you’d like to see next down in the comments the ship with the most up
votes will be featured in the future episode
with that out of the way let’s get to it the freelancer max is a medium-size
cargo ship manufactured by none other than Musashi industrial and star flight
concern or misc for short misc is a human based company
out of the Centauri system founded in 2805 the freelancer max is
one of four freelancer variants the freelancer base dur
and mis are also available be sure to check out my buyers guides on those in
the description the misc freelancer max is a cargo ship variant version of the
freelancer series the sacrifices weaponry for an increased cargo capacity
this makes it ideal for equipment and raw materials transport the freelancer
max is currently fight ready as of alpha 3.4 it is available in the pledge store
for 150 dollars or if you don’t use store credit one hundred and forty
dollars war bond and on average sales for one hundred and fifty dollars on the
gray market it is not currently available to purchase with in-game
credits with that out of the way let’s see how it compares to other ships you
might be considering for comparison I have hand-picked 15 ships that I think
could possibly be considered by someone looking to purchase a freelancer max the
following slides will feature the current ships value and rank along with
the names and values of the worst and best ships a Google sheets document with
those ships and the data are linked in the description let’s see how it stacks
up the max comes in at around three hundred and sixty thousand kilograms it
has a max crew size of five and where the freelancer max sets itself apart
from other freelancer variants is its cargo
capacity of 120 s eu it features a maxi all pitch rate of 65 degrees per second
and the Nessie M speed of 210 meters per second a decently fast 1005 m/s top
speed has over 19,000 hit points across its body its shield generators can
withstand just over 12,000 hit points of damage its guns do almost 1,900 damage
per second and they have a theoretical DPS of over 3,600 it should be noted
that DPS only matters if you can hit your target it has a total missile
damage of almost 11,000 its fuel tanks can hold 18,000 gallons of fuel the
odyssey quantum drive gives it a great 74 mega meters per second quantum speed
and a range of 117 Giga meters so it can travel from Portales are to Hurston 3.3
times before needing to refuel bond and travel from Portales are to Hurston will
take you about 7 minutes and 14 seconds and leaving Hurston’s atmosphere will
take you about 4 minutes and 23 seconds now let’s talk about its firepower the
freelancer max packs to PC to dual s3 mounts with 2 Omni sky 9 laser cannons
these Omni skies have 413 DPS and a 4200 meter range in the rear the max has
one-man turret with – sighs – dr model xj tubes these xj tubes pack a little
over a thousand dps and almost a 1700 meter range in addition its wings hold
to size for MSD 4 to 3 missile racks with two size three Thunderbolt 3s each
and to size three MSD three to two missile racks with two sides to
Dominator tubes each for a total of eight missiles now let’s talk about the
components the standard components available on the max are as follows it
has one size – Great Sea civilian class daybreak powerplant
– sighs – Great Sea civilian class Frost re x coolers
one size too great see civilian class Odyssey quantum drive with an 18 second
cooldown after long jumps and last but not least we have two sides to grade C
military grade five mhm Molly’s shield generators let’s take a look at the
interior the freelancer max features a huge cargo bay big enough to comfortably
fit at least four grey cat P TVs – Drake dragon flies to a open oxes – cyclones
or a hundred and eight seu in the rear on the left side of features modules for
life support shields avionics two coolers and a
quantum drive the right side features two radar power avionics and shield
generators the rear turret access is located at the rear of the cargo hold moving on we have a second cargo hold
with the remaining 12 scu of cargo space and a topside access port the living quarters features an expresso
machine a portside airlock for bunk beds a non-functioning MFD and a head the
cockpit comes equipped with two engineering seats with one MFD each a co-pilot seat with five MFDs in the pilot seat with five MFDs
although two are barely visible under your arms it should be noted that the freelancer
max is not currently come equipped with an eject feature there’s a known bug to
some ships with ladders have in three point four called the ladder of death it
is best to enter an exit through the cargo hold of the freelancer max to
avoid being murdered in closing the misc freelancer max is a great medium sized
cargo ship its pros are a large 120 scu cargo capacity it’s nimble for its size
as fast quantum travel its omni sky lasers come highly recommended and it
has room for all of your friends its cons are a reduced visibility from the
cockpit its missile payload is subpar as a slow max speed currently no ejection
feature and the homicidal ladder so is it worth to buy with a $50 upgrade from
the Cutty black for an additional 38% of cargo capacity and Omni Sky lasers that
can be removed and put on any ship of size three mounts it’s a no-brainer for
the citizen interested in a profession and trading but ultimately that’s up to
you did you like this guide like it subscribe by hitting the bell and
comment what ship you would like featured in the next Oh star citizen’s
ship buyers guide until next time citizens I’ll see you in the verse
