Nestlé in Society: Creating Shared Value and meeting our commitments

Creating Shared Value – these 3 words are actually covering the fundamental way we want to behave as a company and as individuals There’s a fundamental way how we want to go about our activites and it is linked with this conviction that a company to be meaningful and successful over time has to intersect also with society in a very positive and constructive way ? more than 330 000 people are part of it, they are making Nestlé, they are doing these things – so people are buying our products because there is trust They trust in our brand, they trust in our products and more and more they want to trust in the company who is behind that brand, behind that product If you see what we do in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast and sharing knowledge with farmers on how we can increase the yields and the quality of Coca Plan so that they can have a decent income for their families without having to involve their kids and they can send them to school, we have built schools there. If you see how we are able to be part of the “healthy kids program” that is getting to millions of kids with governments and educating them before being able to look after themselves for healthy diets. If you see how we have been able to drive nutrition, health and wellness arguments through the whole portfolio worldwide If you see how we are driving through R&D this knowledge of micro-fortification – that is what we have done – that is what we want to do – and that is our commitment that is what we commit to ourselves so we want to share that with you The company behaves like a citizen in the same way, with the same sense of responsibilty and with the size we have, we can really make a difference and that feeling of being able to make a difference is a very good feeling.
