PROMISING PRACTICES: Spilamberto and Us: Active Citizens for the Common Good

The public administration
doesn’t arrive everywhere and we have a lot of people who want to help,
to solve the problems of our municipality. So, in Spilamberto we want to help
these people to be more active and to take care of the common goods. This is our programme. Many municipalities struggle with limited
resources to maintain public goods, resulting in poorer living conditions
and complaints by frustrated citizens. The Italian Municipality of Spilamberto activates
its citizens to work together in taking care of common goods such as libraries and parks. On top of improving the quality of life, this
lets citizens experience self-efficacy and feel more connected to the community. The project “Spilamberto and us: active
citizens for the common good”, one of many “Promising Practices”
presented by Act.Now.
