The Big Mistake: Why Hard Working People Fail – Sadhguru

The Big Mistake: Why Hard Working People Fail – Sadhguru

In life if you have goals, they have a price tag that includes (Sadhguru Laughs) pain, hard work, resilience. This is a sure way to mess yourself up (Laughter). You complain about everything in life
because you’re doing everything hard. Once your intelligence has turned against you,
no power in the universe can save you, that’s all. Superscript: The Big Mistake:
Why Hard Working People Fail Interviewer 1: I think pain leads to prosperity
and in life if you have goals, they have a price tag that includes (Sadhguru Laughs)
pain, hard work, resilience. And when is…when this is the case then
why do a lot of people shy away from stress? Because I, from on an… on an individual level,
up until I am alive I want to achieve goals and it will come with a lot of stress and pain. And then I can rest when I’m below because I will spend more time in the grave
than I will outside the grave. Do you think this is the right mentality or
what is your comments on this approach? Sadhguru: No. This is a sure way
to mess yourself up (Laughter). This is a… This is a serious mistake a whole
generations of people have done, that if you study, how should you study? Hard! You must study hard. If you work, how should you work? You must work hard. Why didn’t they tell you, you must study joyfully. Why didn’t they tell you you must work lovingly? No. You must do everything hard. And then you complain. You complain about everything in life
because you’re doing everything hard. There is substantial medical and
scientific evidence to show you. Only when you’re in pleasant states of experience
does your body and your brain work at their best. Is that important for you to perform any activity in life well, that your body and your brains are working well? Hello? Participants: Yes. Sadhguru: Is it important? Participants: Yes. Sadhguru: Tell me if you are stressed and anxious,
does your body and brains work at their best? Participants: No. Interviewer 1: Our body can get immune to it
and that is how you know, like in the gym when I stress my muscle it grows when it breaks. So like that we can also get ourselves immune. Sadhguru: No, even if you joyfully run, climb
a mountain, play a game, still muscle will get well. Hello (Laughter)? Interviewer (Bilal): So under stress it would get better. It would break and then it will build better together. Sadhguru: No, no, no, no. See, stress means you’re always finding more and more
exotic words for this. Somebody says stress, somebody says tension,
somebody says anxiety and goes further. All right? There’re many, many names. There’re some seventy-two, seventy-four
different kinds of mental ailments so today that they’ve identified, lots of exotic names. Essentially it’s just this, your intelligence has turned against you. Once your intelligence has turned against you,
no power in the universe can save you. That’s all. If your intelligence was working for you, would you keep this (Referring to Oneself)
blissfulness or stressful, please tell me. You make your choice, I’m going to bless you right now (Laughter). If your intelligence was functioning for you, what is
your choice for yourself, blissfulness or stressfulness? Participants: Blissfulness. Sadhguru: What you want for your neighbor
maybe debatable (Laughter). You know we’re neighbors elsewhere (Laughter). Interviewer (Bilal): Okay (Laughter/Applause).

Hhahaha the whole first minutes, so many golden moments! This man really is, something. Not judging, just funny how.. "lost" he is in the mind ( which of course I am too still, not just in that way ), and Sadghuru could break down every sentence he is saying to minutes of "explanations" that he always does so brilliantly.

Most humans are so, so unconscious. I was probably just the same only 3-4 years ago, in many ways.

Thank you for sharing, and all the love to you reading this, and namaskaram Sadghuruji.

This man with obnoxious messy questions first needs to understand basic English . He doesn’t seem to be one amongst the London economics as portrayed. Foul and irritating he doesn’t even know his basics right … a statement or a question ? What’s his real predicament?

How does a farmer get farmer strength which is strength beyond anyone training in a gym, but also the farmer does not need 1 day of rest from sore / stressed muscles, they work in such a way
that they can work (train muscles) in the field everyday before it becomes to much, so intelligently work with what energy you have and not push that boundary, when you do not push it you can work everyday, get stronger everyday without needing to take a full day break because of sore muscles.

    Balance is key.

TO BELLESWITHLOVE-My dear fellow who ever you are ,I presume that you are working with "love" for the farty pants from above,a gymnast,a ballerina and a pilot are in their chosen carriers because they love the path they chosen and in spite of their love they will have to work very hard to succeed sometimes even sweating blood ,sometimes failing, sometime get frustrated and wanting to give up,however the great majority of people on planet Earth don't get to do what they want ,who knows how many musicians, painters, engineers, scientists etc,are walking out there in the world and they don't even know the potential they have because they are busy working what they find in order to pay their bills and put food on the table to feed their children ,in any domain if you want to succeed you have to work hard ,perhaps you didn't hear the expression "99% perspiration for 1% inspiration".Before I go I'll like to tell that I'm fed up with f***ing idiots like you and farty pants presuming to know what other people think ,that ability belongs to God Almighty alone and not to you or your boyfriend farty pants, you make me laugh with your suave speech about peace and clarity ,please when get there give us a hand wave even if is behind the fence of a bedlam.Take care buddy,go easy on that ganja.Shalom,bro.P.S.Don't forget to report this to your boyfriend ,the FARTY PANTS.

Just look at Arnold Schwarzenegger. He won the Mr. Olympia contest seven times. His secret? He was happy and excited when working out in the gym. Excited to do another set of bench presses, squats, etc. because he knew that each rep he did would take him closer to his goal. Don't work hard; work joyfully. That is really something to remember.

We understand and perceive our lives based on the knowledge, or information that we received.

The question is a classic case of mis-aligned logic.
If we look closely, a muscle's NATURAL BEHAVIOR is to lift a particular amount of weight in a particular direction for a particular duration. We push it a little bit further and it grows to accommodate the additional capacity. On the other hand, if we try to move a muscle haphazardly, it simply sprains(and loses existing capacity) and doesn't really grow.
Similarly, human mind's NATURAL BEHAVIOR is to stay focused blissfully on a particular task for a particular duration. Meditation is the practice in which we push the mind a little bit further everyday and it grows to attain more focus overtime.
Going by the guy's logic, if we try to add stress/worry to human mind, the mind breaks as it is not its natural behavior.

Wise words! All people care about these days is results. I used to be the same concerning studying, now I’m enjoying the process and not just the results of my studying, consequently it no longer feels like hard work. The ironic thing is when you stop worrying about results, and just enjoy the process, you become more productive!

I agree with this, especially for mental stress and working in a pleasant state of mind. But at the same time, I feel that Sadhguru missed the guy's point when he was talking about physical stress in the gym to make the muscles grow. In case of bodybuilding and similar competitive sports, it's impossible to get to the next level (after a certain stage) without breaking your current limits, for which hard work is the only option I'm aware of.

    Big fan btw

Yes ,It is only bcz of micro fractures our muscle will grow !!

But when you push ur self beyond ur limitations
Unconsciously by 'working hard' you will endup with a 'fracture' no doubt 😂😂😂 !!

If you consciously reach to your maximum potential, then the result will amaze you !

So this is why you need a trainer LoL 😂😂!!

    Here he is…
'' If you do not do what you cannot do, that’s no problem. But if you do not do what you can do, you are a tragedy .''
    -sadhguru !!😎

A true trainer who interprets life as it is will never propel you to ''work hark '' !!
He constantly tries to make you realize ….

Because ''Everything is already fixed and determined ''😂😂
here in this planet right things dnt happen unless you do right things !!

I wish sadhguru had used the incident furthermore to enlighten this guy !!

" we r neighbours "" ""if u want to give tension to neighbours …"" hope u can amend those statement in future.. this statement is like an indian and pakistani media.. but lots of love to sadhguru and respect to that pakistani guy who give mike to her ..if he does not give then there will be a debate over a country.. but humbly and loyaly he gives mike to her . That is only an intelligence person do..
