Volunteer Citizen Patrol Program

Volunteer Citizen Patrol Program

(slow electronic music) – [Sheriff Chad Chronister]
Are you looking for a way to get involved
and serve your community? Then Hillsborough
County Sheriff’s Office has a spot for you. I’m Sheriff Chad Chronister and I’d like to personally
invite you to join our volunteer citizen
patrol program. Citizen patrol
volunteers are the eyes and ears of
law enforcement. They work with deputies
to patrol neighborhoods, monitor suspicious activity,
assist disabled motorists, help at school crossings
and so much more. We provide uniforms and patrol
cars equipped with computers so that you have
everything you need when you’re out
patrolling the community. Citizen patrol volunteers
are specially trained by the sheriff’s
office that respond to both non-emergency
and routine calls that do not require
law enforcement. You just have to be 19
or older, a U.S. citizen and have a valid driver’s
license to volunteer. We only ask for 12 hours
a month of your time. So are you up to the challenge? If so, give our
community outreach office a call at (813) 247-8115.
