Why did Carl Sagan form The Planetary Society?

Carl Sagan said, “I believe our future depends on how well we know this cosmos in which we float like a mote of dust in the morning sky.” That’s why he founded The Planetary Society. To give people from all over the world a role in space exploration. To make sure we continue to look up and wonder. To know the cosmos and our place within it. That’s why I joined The Planetary Society 40 years ago. So, are you with us?

Yes for the sake of Carl and Bill! Also very curious about universe in general. Recently I took a picture of Saturn with it's Moon's. When I first saw the Moon's of Saturn, it occurred to me, this is a planet similar to ours just spinning in the space.

Any sane educated person should be with us all on this incredible journey of exploration and discovery. If mankind is to survive and thrive, the world most embrace the quest for knowledge as it relates to the Cosmos. Without it we will be lost.
